INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR MUSIC THERAPIST

APPLICATION DEADLINE: July 8th, 2022

Hours: 5-20 per week

Salary: $36/session – $98/session

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As part of the TMT team, you will :

  • Create and implement sessions with a wide range of clientele in both individual and group sessions.
  • Conduct therapy assessments and determine specific treatment goals 
  • Implement a plan of care, including documentation, ongoing evaluation and revision of clinical interventions, to best meet the needs of clients
  • Work collaboratively with interprofessional healthcare teams
  • Offer sessions both virtually and in-person

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree or Master’s degree in Music Therapy or related Graduate level training from a recognized university
  • Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) designation or in progress of seeking accreditation
  • Carry professional liability insurance
  • A member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT)
  • Able to work independently and efficiently
  • Experience in providing group and individual therapy 
  • Passion for therapy and outstanding clinical skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and punctuality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hold a valid G license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Available to work a variety of days, evenings, in-person and remotely
  • HST# if an RP
  • Must provide proof of min. 2 shots of COVID-19 vaccine

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE:

  • Trained in trauma-informed care 
  • Licensed to practice psychotherapy in Ontario; Registered Psychotherapist (RP Qualifying, RP) or equivalent
  • In good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) 
  • Experienced (minimum of 1 year) in providing services via information and communication technology (e.g. telehealth/telemedicine) 
  • Experienced (minimum of 1 year) in working with children and adolescents with developmental delays and neurological disorders
  • Trained in one or more evidence-based verbal psychotherapy approaches (eg. CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc) and/or holistic approaches
